Name: Aerith Gainsborough
Canon: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Canon Point: Towards the end of FF7Rebirth after her confrontation with Sephiroth.

Personality:
You'd be hard-pressed to find someone as compassionate as Aerith. With few exceptions she can always manage to see the good in people, even people who are trying their best to keep it hidden. Somehow she even manages to see the good in the Turks that keep trying to bring her back to captivity at the Shinra building. No matter who it is, even a stranger, she cares deeply and often will put others before herself. She's quick to advocate for helping out those in need and will throw herself into danger if it means helping them. When she saw Tifa being carted off to the Don's she was quick to insist to Cloud that they had to go help her. Around the slums she's known for helping everyone out be it with normal tasks or more dangerous ones like getting special medical herbs. Despite having been through so much in her own life she maintains a positive attitude. She can be seen as a cheerleader for others, encouraging them to hold onto hope and trying her best to smile and bring that smile to others. She's warm, comforting, and can be very gently when the time calls for it. She seems to have an uncanny knack for knowing when she needs to be bright and cheery versus when she needs to be gentle and comforting.
Adventure is something she secretly craves after having been kept imprisoned for so much of her life. She's brash and is quick to express her opinions and speak her mind. She's confident in herself and her own ability to take care of herself and will let anyone and everyone know that she can do it on her own. She's very good at pushing the idea onto others that they should all focus on trying to live in the moment and it seems she does her best to do that herself. She's curious and prone to running off on her own, more used to making decisions for herself without having to take other people's thoughts into account.
There's also no hiding that she's something of a flirt who enjoys teasing people and playing with their obvious discomfort. It's especially obvious with how amused she becomes with Cloud's reactions to her and how much she enjoys playing those reactions up. She can pick up on other people's emotions very easily and when she notices they're flustered she just continues to play with it. There's no harm meant by it, she just likes to tease and can be very playful.
Aerith is stubborn to a fault. Once she's made up her mind about something there is absolutely no changing her mind. In fact, when she decides something, she just sets off and does it and there is no deterring her from it. People either go along with it or they get left behind. It can be somewhat exasperating to deal with and she rarely takes that idea into consideration. She also can have a somewhat terrible temper, occasionally even veering into being slightly childlike in how huffy she can become. It rarely lasts too long though and then she's right back to smiling.
She also knows a lot more than she lets on and she keeps what she knows to herself without letting others in. The truth is deep down Aerith's a very sad and lonely person. She's lost a lot, been through a lot, and also knows what her (and the Planet's) ultimate fate will be. The things she went through while locked up have never fully left her no matter how hard she tries to ignore them. The weight of responsibility and the pain that came with that also cling fairly tightly to her. In general though negative emotions are something she keeps tightly locked up and all to herself. Which makes it a bit difficult for anyone to really get to know her, despite her general desire for close connections. It takes her a long time to admit when she's scared or upset and even when she does she doesn't really let herself linger on it. She's able to keep a cold façade up when being tortured by Hojo and never admits how much what he said and did affected her. She hides her fears, sadness, and heartache from others and instead forces a smile in it's place.
Powers/Abilities:
As a Cetra Aerith has the ability to commune with the planet's life force. This translates to her having a strange ability to get plant life to grow and thrive anywhere, being able to tell when someone's died, and picking up on the emotional residue of a location. It's strongly implied she has empathic abilities of some kind, meaning she can pick up on people's emotions easily. In the Remake she's shown to have some sort of ability to touch someone and calm them as well as pass on information via touch. She's also able to cast magic without the use of materia.
But, for the purpose of the game, she'll just be keeping her Cetra abilities, with the ability to make flowers bloom, death sense, and picking up emotions.
Inventory: Plumrose Rod
Game Plans: Whether or not it would be a complete dead end I think it might be interesting to have her try to commune with this planet and see what she can figure out at some point. Even if what she can figure out is nothing. Also just in general trying to adjust to her changes and come to terms with those that are here and the fact that she's dead back home.
Monster Choice: 1. Vampire. The irony of being something associated with being undead after what happens to her is very interesting. I also really like the idea of having to potentially deal with harming people in order to survive and the greater implications of that struggle for her. Especially as a healer.
2. Kitsune. Interesting idea of the trickster with how playful she can be. Also has the potential to deal with the desire to harm (eat livers) to live which is the opposite of a healer.
3. Fairy.
